dental dreams
Dental Dreams, LLC was founded by Dr. Sameera Hussain in 2001, when she opened her first office in Aurora, Illinois. Approximately one year later, Dr. Hussain opened a second clinic in North Riverside, IL. Soon after the opening of the second office, Dr. Hussain realized that there was a widespread need for quality dentistry in communities across Illinois. She then made it her mission to serve these communities by expanding her practice.
Dental Dreams, LLC is now a dynamic, growing company with the mission to provide families with high quality dental services in first-class facilities. The group has more than 200 dentists and over 800 employees currently staffing their offices nationwide. Dental Dreams hires only the most qualified dentists who are committed to personal, superior patient care. In fact, more than 94% of Dental Dreams’ patients say they would recommend them to family and friends.
Good oral health means more than just strong teeth. According to a report by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, new research is pointing to an association between chronic oral infections, and heart and lung disease. Periodontal disease and diabetes have long been known to be correlated. Oral health is integral to general health. For children, access to dental treatments is essential for long term good health as well as self confidence and social growth. Unfortunately, the same report notes that for every child under the age of 18 with health insurance, there are two children without dental insurance.
What most of the public doesn’t realize is that tooth decay is the most common childhood disease. It is five times more common than asthma, and it results in 51 million lost school hours every year. A 2012 study performed by the USC School of Dentistry, and published in The American Journal of Public Health demonstrates how poor oral health, dental disease and tooth pain can put children at a disadvantage in school. According to the study, children who reported recent tooth pain were four times more likely to have a lower grade point average compared to those without any oral pain. In addition, the most recent National Center for Health Statistics reports several disparities along ethnic, racial and economic lines. Three times as many poor children had untreated dental disease compared with their more affluent counterparts, according to the report. Thirty-one percent of Mexican-American children ages 6 – 11 had cavities in their permanent teeth, compared with 19 percent of the non-hispanic white children. Dental Dreams is fulfilling an important unmet need, as very few dentists nationwide are willing to provide services to patients on public aid.
Approximately 50% of Dental Dreams' patients are under the age of 18. Our providers participate in many community events and free screenings throughout the community.
